Antweight World Series 28
AWS 28 was hosted by Craig Danby in Colchester.
It was a great event, even if it was a bit of a trek, thanks go to Team ASBO for the lift! after several hours (and several tollbooth incidents) we arrived to a packed hall full of new and interesting antweights, for this event we had 2 robots (4 technically but Doom was broken and RIP was K.O’ed in a practice fight) the two working robots were Valliant and Dead Meat.

i was feeling quietly optimistic because we had 2 strong competitors! The first event of the day was the under 18 competition…
***
Valliant vs Terrior
it was a tough fight, against a really great driver, it was pretty even but in the end Terrior came out on top, and due to the single elimination rule for that event i was out of the under 18′s! ah well, there was no hard feelings, Terrior then went on to win the under 18′s by defeating Fast Dalek.
Onto the AWS!
Valliant vs Baby Hell
Valliant kicked off the AWS by fighting Dave W’s Baby Hell, i was familiar with this opponent and thus knew its strengths and weakness’s, the fight started and i decided to pick on its high rear ground clearance, and it worked, i avoided the axe and used my wedge to lift his wheels of the floor, i then proceeded to dump him in the pit.
Valliant vs Private Iron
For my next match i faced Oliver Steeples trackbot Private Iron, it had a big silver flipper and was a well astablished robot, when the match kicked off i felt nervous, but through a combination of skill and good luck i managed to tip him onto his side, rendering him immobile. i had won again!
Valliant vs Anticide
For this round i took on the great Anticide, armed with its pneumatic flipper it quickly tossed me onto my back, i ran around inverted for a bit but i still got tossed around like a jugglers dog! in the end i got cornered and was flipped OOTA, but due to the double elimination rule i was still in the competition!
Valliant vs Private Iron (2)
Once again i took on Private Iron, this time i wasnt so lucky, Oliver wanted vengeance for the last defeat, and soon i found myself being flipped around the arena, soon i was left beached on my side and was counted out (how ironic) Private Iron then proceeded to flip me OOTA, and that was the end of Valliant’s AWS run.
Dead Meat vs Pants
Dead Meat’s first battle of the day was against the veteran Pants, My Dad controlled the robot for this event and, needless to say, he was still learning! Pants held back but Dad was on a Kamakazi mission, running full speed into the opponent, and tipping himself over…we didnt have a self righting mechanism so Pants pushed us around and into the pit
Dead Meat Vs F.I.N
An AWS 27 rematch, Dead Meat then took on F.I.N, and it ended in a very similar way to last time, F.I.N spun up and hit out receiver, causing us controll problems, he then took advantage and ripped open the front armor, then he pushed us down into the pit. And that Ladies and Gentlemen was the end of our AWS 28 run, but dont worry, up next was the tag teams…
We entered both our robots into the tag teams, Valliant joined up with Anto, And Dead Meat Joined up with Dominant:
Now onto the Annihilator!
